Back in the day, teams showed 2 attendance numbers. One was paid attendance, the other was ACTUAL attendance. Somewhere along the line, someone deemed it irrelevant to post the actual attendance. Damn those season ticket holders and ticket agencies that can't sell all those tickets they bought. Owners want to brag that they sold 3 million tickets, even though only 2. 1 million actually planted their caboose in a seat.

I have season seats and didn't go.  It happens.  I miss a lot of games.  Again, it happens.

I don’t think the Angels care much if they sell the seats.  They don’t make as much off concessions as you think. 

Also, I was there on Sunday and it was a great crowd

Agree, I like walking up to the gate, buying decent seats, and not paying a $7.50 Ticket master service charge per ticket!

I was there last night and loved it 

paid $6 bucks for nose bleeds and sat behind first base 

no more than 15-20k in the stadium last night

Truth be told... half the season ticket holders are on IL.  It's an epidemic.

Plus... we can't afford parking.

That's a good point.  There were probably 17,000 ticket holders wandering Orangewood or Katella, looking for good, offsite, free parking.

They aren't millionaires, after all.

Tickets sold for Sunday was 43k+.  So many empty seats, but they sold 10,000 little leaguers two tickets each for $1.99.

Ok, I am not sure who has done that, but ok.  I remember once saying someone about 714 Tickets buying all the tickets out by the foul poles.  Last year you could literally buy season tickets from 714 tickets.  I haven’t looked this year.  It is completely possible that last year they bought a ton because of the Ohtani affect.

Last night's 'tickets sold' - 32,316

I didn't see any of the game, so didn't get a feel for the crowd

Does it matter? Baseball is living off of broadcast contracts, not attendence, and has been for the last twenty years. If they really wanted butts in the seats of low performing attendence venues then the prices would be slashed. So far the economics haven't forced teams to do this.

Crappy umpires are a concern. 

Teams reporting attendance figures that look like out and out fake news, isn't in my book.
