Some UGLY Blanton Stats

First pitch swingers are 13/27 with 3 HR 4 2B 1 3B and a 1.519(!) OPS. 

 

Even on 0-2 counts he's allowed 4 hits in 12 times. 

 

Between his 46-60 pitch zone during the game, hitters have a 1.292 OPS against. 

 

I don't think it takes a genius to realize how truly awful he's been but these stats are mind boggling bad. Maybe he should think about mixing up some of his first pitches so hitters aren't killing him.

Here's a scary thought.

 

Being right handed we'd expect lefties to out hit righties vs Blanton in the long run. The fact that right handed AB's are a larger sample is evidence that it is the lefties numbers that need to 'regress' closer towards the righties than the other way around...
