Shohei Ohtani (elbow) will not be activated off the injured list during the Angels' homestand, according to Angels manager Brad Ausmus.

The Angels return home on Tuesday, and play five home games before heading back out on the road on May 7. After that, the Angels play 11 straight road games, and don't return home until May 17. If Los Angeles wants to wait until a home game for the 24-year-old's return, then we're going to have to wait a while before we see him back in the lineup. If not, we could see him back with the Halos on the road in the middle of May.

Obviously whoever wrote that doesn’t realize the Angels “home” games next weekend are in Mexico. 

Ausmus only said Ohtani wouldn’t play against Toronto, at Angel Stadium. He wouldn’t say about Mexico. 

I have trouble believing he really need another 8 days, so I’m putting my money on his debut coming in Mexico.
