One of the great things about baseball is any team can win at any time. Good pitching is good pitching, no matter the opponent. Down playing his start is no different than saying the Tigers struck out 18 Yankees because they're all injured and the Yankees strike out anyways. It was good pitching.

For it to be a bad move:

1.  Shoe has to stay healthy and continue to pitch well.  I am betting he pitches well if he stay healthy

2.  Our #5 pitcher (Stratton or whoever) has to not pitch well.
