She’s totally hot. She looks like she leaves crazy incoherent messages on her ex boyfriends moms phone. The best kind of crazy hot

I had an ex like that. It's amazing how accurate your description is, though my ex is much hotter.

Generally people from the “levant” regard themselves as Arabs.  Typically from those countries.  I suppose there are exceptions.  Sort of unusual in my experience to hear someone describe themselves as Levantine Christian.

Arab is an ethnolinguistic term, mainly referring to people who speak Arabic.

Arabs aren’t the only people in the Middle East, there are Syriacs, Assyrians, Maronites, Melkites, Arameans, Armenians, Greek Christians, Coptic Christians, Kurds, Circassians, Jews, Albanians, Turks, Cypriots, Berbers, and Anatolians. It was mostly Christian before it was invaded by the Muslims and we don’t intermarry—so the difference is distinct.

Many Christians from that region eschew their Arab Identity, and we’re already part of a dwindling minority from that region so I’m not surprised that you think it’s unusual.

Arab does definitely identify a broad set of groups, and I’d agree that that the Arabic language is a unifier.  You’re right that not all of those groups you mentioned would identify themselves as Arabs.  It is a cultural and linguistic identity.

you’re mixing a bunch of things in there tho.  Religious sects (maronites; Coptic Christians for example)  nationalities (Syrian) ethnic groups (Assyrian, kurd)  etc.  you’re certainly entitled to identify as you’d like.  Care to share ? I was just trying to establish where your people come from.  My family (well half) are Palestinian and they’re Maronites.  We consider ourselves Arabs.  Which I would say is typical for people similar to us.

I also have Maronite, but mostly Melkite family. It's really unusual to see Palestinian Maronites, so I'm guessing your family is ethnically Lebanese.

They are fine to identify as Arab since Arab is their culture, but they are genetically distinct from other Arabs. Those aren't just sects, they are ethnoreligious groups. Coptics for example are not Arabs, but Egyptian--and although they are Christian, they are genetically distinct from Maronites and other Christians.

Very cool though, I never knew you had roots from the Middle East. Most of the Christian families are related.

My family is from Jordan and Lebanon. Though, during the early 20th C they were technically Syrian.

Levantine means one thing. You listed a bunch of nationalities, with the exception of Palestinian.

which is why I specifically asked about her nationality
