i'm guessing the average voter doesn't give a flying fig about WAR.

simmons won't get voted in as a starter because not enough people east of the mississippi see him play with any kinid of regularity. if he was highlighted on espn more often, it would probably help.

Yep, they’ll probably write in Jeter.

Or we could have traded for Simmons, moved Segura to second and we wouldnt have the problem at second base for three straight years.

We would have had a second baseman who put up OPS+ seasons of 70 and 68 the two seasons following his trade. So, yes, we still would have had the problem at 2B

What did he put up this year and last year?  So no we wouldnt have a hole in 2017 or 2018

And everyone would have been so patient with him for 2+ years in the interim.

You guys can't even handle 2 months of Kinsler.

Or we could have traded him for Greinke and then traded for him after his two terrible years!

Yep -- they had the money -- they spent it poorly.

Was thinking about this earlier today.

So many things have gone wrong over the last decade. Pujols is still a daily reminder. Wells, trading napoli, cj wilson falling apart, matthews, etc etc.

But hamilton has got to be the worst. Id kind of forgotten about him. But looking back, we pluck a guy from a rival whos one of the top 5 most feared hitters at the time. He not only dogs it, never giving even one good year, but then falls apart. Creates problems in the clubhouse, ends up running off with a bunch of money, etc.

Damn that guy was a bad move.
