Did you guys know the last Japanese soldier didn't surrender on Iwo Jima until 1949, some four years after the battle ended. Kind of obvious that it was over if you ask me.

SF Giants had Murakami -- a pitcher back in the mid 60's

When he was in his final years as an active player in NPB, I remember watching a game broadcast and the announcer calling him "dai-leaguer Murakami", means "Major Leaguer Murakami" in Japanese. I was a fan of his team when I was a kid.

Ichiro asked the high school girl pitcher who struck out him, "I had a bad feeling. When I played in MLB, I didn't strike out that much. It was harder to hit your ball than Roger Clemens. Do you know him?"
