Ichiro Retires

Recommended Posts

Loved watching him play against every team but the Angels. Great player. And honestly, I see this as a bit of class. Instead of retiring against the Angels, with Pujols possibly collecting 3,000 hits up there, and with Ohtani taking over as the face of Japanese baseball, it's a good thing.

Definitely a first round HOF, and yes, had he come earlier he'd push Pete Rose for the all-time lead in hits.

Wow.

There is no way in hell he took Pujols and Ohtani in consideration when making this decision.

Please, let's stop this hero-worshipping.

What, no farewell tour so Arte can give him a surfboard?  Then again, we only seem to honor Yankees and not players from any other team.

But as classy as he is.  They still should have made him get pulled from the field to the cheer of the home crowd as his last game.  This is kind of a rip off to Seattle that loves him.

Feels like not letting Tony Gwynn play in his last game.

Lou, I guess you're Imagining the conversations he will have with Dipoto....

If it was 9 years ago, you know, when Ichiro was good, Dipoto would have traded him for Dioner Navarres
