the area where AT&T park is was pretty crap not long ago. the stadium opened in 2000 and the entire SOMA turned around quickly.

This doesn't do much for me.  Just means more traffic eventually.  It was inevitable, though.  

2022 is pretty damn far away.

I'll change my tune if they announce a new bar/restaurant that has a separate entrance to the stadium, where I can get a Tongue Tickles on draft and carry it into the stadium and enjoy the outdated ballpark and views of the freeway.  

Still doesn't do much quite as much for me as a new stadium would.
