It worked back then but now its 2016 & they don't have a roster that can do it as well.

Alot of the small ball stuff is a gamble & often gives the other team free outs.

Such as that a runner doesn't get thrown out stealing a base. When running on contact & its a line out & runner on 1st is tagged out. Running agressively when a fly ball is hit assuming it won't be caught & then it is & they either get back to the base they were at or get thrown out or they lose out on a chance they could have just waited & tagged & run after the fly ball is caught so they safely move to the next base.
