Crazy talk @ghoetke

Let's see...

2015 we came within one game of making the playoffs.

2014    AL Division Series (Best record in baseball)
2009    AL Championship Series
2009    AL Division Series
2008    AL Division Series (100 wins)
2007    AL Division Series
2005    AL Championship Series
AL Division Series
2004    AL Division Series
2002    World Series Champions
AL Championship Serie
AL Division Series

It's fair to be down on this team right now, but there's no way they're this bad if everyone is healthy.

You throw a healthy Richards, Heaney, Skaggs, Simmons, Street out there and we're hovering around or well over .500 and in the thick of things right now.

Sometimes shit happens.

Scioscia will fight for every win, regardless if tanking the last month gets you a higher draft pick. It's just not in his wiring and not in the players wiring, they don't give a fuck about the draft, they want a win even if it just keeps them out of the cellar. Imagine walking up to Mike Trout and saying, hey big guy why don't you go into a month long slump so we can get a higher draft pick? That conversation isn't going to go really well.

This franchise is in bad shape right now and a 6 game winning streak, which would be fun, isn't going to change the peripherals. Now here's the good news: Talent that is on the DL will get healthy however long that takes. And if Arte stays out of the way and the front office plays it well from here (certainly no guarantee on either although we have yet to see Eppler in action for any fair period of time) then the poor farm can be replenished in 2-4 years. After all, minor leaguers are either elevated, traded or discarded within that timeframe and everything is recycled over again. At that point, even if the Angels aren't consistent winners again, at least we'll all be armed with a little more hope.
