  1. I remember an article from a wire service in our local newspaper several years ago touting Cron as a can't miss with super star potential. That's all I can tell you.
  2. Sorry if this has been covered before,.Everyone thought CJ would be a superstar. He's been sent down to SLC several times even as a veteran to find himself again. Is it a confidence problem; was he overrated; other ??
  3. If you're have trouble sleeping, watching an Angels game is the instant cure,The most damning indictment is there is no life on this team and there hasn't been for several years. I don't know who would be the best replacement??
  4. This is probably the worst Angels lineup that I can recall and arguably the worst in MLB even with Trout. How are Revere and Maybin (sp?) in the Major Leagues. At least Johnny G had a decent B.A. Rojas and Gubi are doing their best to spin it.
  5. If we can get all of our starting pitching back healthy , not including CJ, and pick up another solid reliever, we have the makings of a contender with rest of the group we have, imo. What say you ??
  6. So are Borjous, Rivera, Mo Vaughan, to name a few more.
  7. Projections for HR and RBI at this time of season is 28-30 and 95-100, respectively. Not typical Trout production but still very good. Other extra base hits are off too I think.
  8. . Other than Trout and maybe Calhoun, this franchise and team brings nothing. Not hard to say where we go from here . Destined for the cellar and to stay put there. Can't blame Scoscia.
  9. Nobody really stepped up..... especially the difference makers......and it cost us dearly. With our crappy bullpen, we probably would've been a quick out anyway, Hope we can take the sense of urgency we finished with into next year. Move Johnny G to leadoff and have Calhoun hitting lower in the lineup. He is productive but he strikes out too much to lead off or hit second. Maybe Murphy can hit in the # 2 position.I don't know.
  10. LIve arm, he competes, and he's still young. Stamina and mental letdowns are all that is keeping him from approaching greatness., IMO.
  11. He gets no help from the bottom of the lineup so his RBI numbers aren't productive as they should be. He's probably won some games for us with his glove as well. He might not be as great as we once thought, but who would you trade him for and get equal or more value.
  12. It starts with Sosh IMO. He just sits there and stares in bewilderment hoping someone is paying attention to his hand signs. And by the dugout shots, Pujols seems to think it's funny. Arte must have a lot of patience watching this pathetic, listless team. Anyone else feel the same ??
  13. Trout strikes outs are mounting again and perhaps for the first time he seems to lack confidence. His RBI production isn't bad for hitting in the # 2 position but is heavily dependent on home runs. He hasn't hit one in about 100 AB's.Trout's obviously a great talent and teammate but the comparisons to Mays and Mantle are way premature, IMO.
  14. Just open Arte's wallet and troll guaranteed mega long term contracts to the likes of Sosh, Wells, Hamilton, Wilson, Pujols, Weaver etc. and all of a sudden you're a friggin' genius. Hilarious. Maybe we should blow up this team and try Houston's way.
  15. We are what we are. Crappy ownership, management, coaches, and team...Trout, Calhoun and perhaps Aybar excluded.
  16. I'm probably wrong, but every time I look at the box score we have 4-5 hits. We seem lackluster and Trout and Pujols especially seem to be struggling.. For Trout, it was about the same time last year, his BA started to dive, and his strikeouts stated to mount.
  17. 0 for 15 tonight with runners in scoring position. That's pretty damn bad for a team with one of the largest payrolls. They'll enjoy the post game spread though. I've read It's the best in baseball..
  18. The one constant, good and bad, in the organization over the past decade is Scoscia. Of late. we watch him game after game glance at his clipboard before he transmits his brilliant hand signals....you know.....index finger to right ear, left ear, then the chin, then the forehead and finally the nose.....only to see us squander another scoring opportunity. We all know what happens next. He makes another note to his clipboard and nothing changes. Long term contract notwithstanding, Scoscia shouldn't be off limits to a realgood butt chewing from Arte. Perhaps now would be a good time.
  19. You gotta bring something more than a fast ball in the big leagues. Even a .200 average hitter can turn on a fastball like last night. That was pretty much Frieri's undoing. At this juncture, I feel the Halo's weaknesses are situational hitting with runners in scoring position and less than two outs. We can score in bunches and make a rout of it, but we don't produce very often in the clutch in close games. We're playing like the Astros did ten days ago and they seem to have recovered. One more thing. Ever notice how well the pitchers we have traded or released are doing ?? Kazmir is a case in point. Is that a coincidence?
  20. This team is under performing and no fun to watch. Is it time to clean house at the top if the slide continues realizing there are other supposedly good teams playing badly now as well. What changes do you see coming ??
  21. Always takes the first pitch and usually gets behind in the count and he's unable to make contact consistently with the high fastball and breaking ball. He's on pace to surpass his strikeout number last year 170+. He's still one helluva ball player.
  22. Getting very bored by the acrobatics, gator aid showers, and thrown objects. They're so full of themselves. A sign of the times I suppose.
  23. For Trout to be batting .240 since the AS break is unfathomble. His production stats are impressive, but he's not the mercurial and exciting player he was, IMO. He was spooked last night and that's very unlike him.
