For us the better way to improve is to strengthen our current starters by building a lock down defense, and a lock down pen.  I think it's awesome the D-Backs look to be getting Grienke.

With Price/Greinke signed, market should really pick up for next-level SPs, plus OFs. Few teams in for big SP have OFs as fallback for $$

I think it goes to show you that there is a LOT of money in MLB, record profits, Tv deals, where even the D-Backs can spend big.

As always, the hot stove season leaves me in shock. Congrats to the D-Backs, things are really looking up for them. New uni's, a couple of young superstars, and they just stole Potentially the best pitcher in baseball out from under the Dodgers/Giants simply by adding one year to the deal.

That's insane!!!  No way he is worth that but whatever.  Have to overpay if you want him to come to a smaller market.  The Dodgers likely got the best years out of him anyway.  I don't think it's possible that he throws sub 2 era for another 6 years.

I'd find it hard to believe the Doyers wouldn't go to 6 years. With Price and Zimmerman off the table, they basically had to re-sign Greinke. Their whole team is built around having an unbeatable 1-2 punch. I wonder if Zach didn't just want out of Dodger-town.
