We blew that game. Up 8 with a minute and a half to go.

Also, the refs were all Arizona, all night. At the end of the first half at the last second, there was a clear as day goaltend committed by Arizona. The refs didn't make a peep. It was obvious. 11 AZ fouls to 21 called on Cal. Still, you expect that garbage from Pac12 refs. You can't collapse like we did in the last two minutes.

Meanwhile, for the first time since maybe 1993, the Big West Conference has FOUR top 100 rpi teams (Hawaii, UCI, LB, and UCSB) going into the BWCT.

It will be interesting, assuming all 4 win on Thursday in the quarterfinals, to see what the semis and title game attendances will be at the Honda Center.

The LB/UCSB title game in 2012 drew the biggest crowd (over 7,600) ever for a BWCT session in Anaheim (over 1977-1982 and 2001-current).

Of course, LB (30s rpi) along with SDSU had the best college basketball in SoCal in 2012.    Stupid New Mexico had to go and spoil a possible NCAAT Cinderella run for LB that year.

Love it. March Madness is always fun, but especially when Oregon is looking at a 2 seed, with an outside chance at a one seed if they win the conference tournament (4th in RPI, 5th in SOS - they would be considered a one seed if they played on the East Coast or Big Ten). Altman just won his 3rd conference coach of the year award in the last 4 seasons. Brooks and Cook first team all conference, Boucher all defensive team (and lead the nation in blocks), Dorsey makes the freshman team. One of my favorite Duck teams of all time and incredibly fun to watch.

As far as the rest of the conference goes, I see Cal as a possible final four team. They are playing incredibly well at the moment and the trio of Brown, Rabb, and Matthews can do a helluva lot of damage in a tournament. Utah is too dependent on one player and Arizona has poor PG play to make a possible Final 4 run imo. Oregon could depending on the draw, but I would possibly place Cal's chances on par or even slightly higher than Oregon's. Great year for the conference as a whole, looking at a possibly 7 teams making the tournament.

Yeah, agree. Shouldn't really expect a competitive game between North Carolina and some school that finished 11-17 to win the Pacific Island Mountain Conference.

Not sure what the alternative should be, however.
