USC still has a pretty young team with a lot of frosh and sophomores.

I'd give him through the following season (2016-17) to get USC at least to the middle of the PAC-12 standings.

Alford seems to have a thin bench.

It cost them vs Monmouth, and came close to costing them against BWC team Cal Poly.

 

LB/UCLA at Pauley could be interesting, a long losing streak at Pauley for LB to snap (never winning there yet).

I was there at the Myd last night.   It was weird leaving the game at 1am in the morning.

Both LB and BYU have a lot of new players, and it showed at times.

But the energy level was good on both sides.

 

LB is short in the post, only one player over 6-7.   They are quick though, and cause a lot of TOs.   

The Maryland transfer, Nick Faust, is very athletic and can shoot to NBA 3 range, but is inconsistent with his shot.

Oh, and freshman guard Noah Blackwell is going to be really good.

Good win for LB!

 

Now on to Charleston, South Carolina and the Charleston Classic, first up on Thursday at 4pm:  Seton Hall

March madness in November

George Washington beat #6 Virginia

UK vs duke and Kansas vs michigan state tonight

SDSU vs Utah was a great game last night.  I expect to see the Aztecs at the Honda Center in the sweet 16 again.  Hopefully they will finally beat Arizona this time.

If the SDSU/LB game was a weekend one, I'd guess about 1,000 Aztec fans being there like for the November 2010 game in LB with Kawhi Leonard still playing.

LB builds a 16 pt. lead on Seton Hall and hangs on to win, 80-77.

This is by far the most team oriented talent since the Ware/Robinson/Anderson days early on this decade.

USC has a lot of young talent, could be interesting in PAC-12 play.    Enfield needs to start showing something in these next 2 seasons.

CSUN is just plain bad.    They have played just 7 players all season so far, save for garbage time.    Theus isn't doing them any favors with all of the ineligible players these past 2 seasons.
