Chicago police don't mess around.  They are old old school and believe they are still trying to catch Al Capone and will go to all means.

 

Oddly, they are the murder capital of the US.  And Illinois is practically bankrupt.

There's also some good news. It seems like The Man has softened towards Hispanics, which means that it's safe to be a Hispanic in Chicago vis a vis the police:

  • 82.2% of people detained at Homan Square were black, compared to 32.9% of the Chicago population.
  • 11.8% of detainees in the Homan Square logs were Hispanic, compared to 28.9% of the population.
  • 5.5% of the detainees were white, compared to 31.7% of the population.
