They don't give a damn that Trump might be pro-choice or not sufficiently religious enough. They just want someone who will yell, insult and offend people on  their behalf. These are the people who listen  to right-wing talk radio for hours on end. They hate the Republican leadership who they believe have foisted (in their minds) "liberal" presidential candidates on them like McCain and  Romney.

They just want to see the world burn.

i've been thinking it's more a case of them liking the fact that he's unfiltered and not beholden to the party leadership. he's the anti-candidate.

I think Trump is the natural progression of our political process. Who can yell the loudest, who can fear monger the greatest, who can villanize the other size the most, who can refuse to back down...this is what talk radio, especially on the right, has been doing for the last few decades. Trump is saying nothing different than most of the other Republicans, he's just saying it louder and the most direct. If you don't agree with him, you are an idiot. 4 years ago an old man yelled at an empty chair and while most people shook their head in embarrassment...a large part of the Republican party let out a collective gasm...it was their dream for every dinner party they ever attended with their liberal brother-in-law or hippie dippie sister. And now you have someone like Donald Trump...who is doing it on a daily basis.

 

One of our major political parties has spent the last few decades preaching never back down politics...hate thine enemy. Constant right wing radio preaches the message, and there is a 24 hours news network dedicated to pushing that message...and at least for the moment we are witnessing what happens when you lose control of the mob.

My main problem with him is I think he would get bored with the Presidency and quit.
