well for one...its the angel curse of players coming to angels...that where they come to die.

navarro and robertson were getting it done and had energy....so yes this is a disaster...the good thing they are still on the team.

but probably can't come back up till sept...but we will be out of it by then.    this team just doesn't have mojo like other teams....so happy we didn't shoot our wad getting a bigger player

Its not really a curse when you're bringing over shitty, washed up veteran players.  I don't think anyone believed that DeJesus, Victorino and Murphy were going to push this team into World Series contention.  They mainly just give Scioscia options for his obsessive "platoon over everything" strategy, and everyone knows we don't have the farm system to make any big moves anyways.

We really need to just suck it up and rebuild for a few years, although with this front office I don't see that happening.  Our system has some decent talent at the lowest levels, but our big league club got old fast and we have basically zero position players even close to making a real impact.  Giovatella is about as replaceable as a guy gets, 3B and LF are a black hole, Aybar is turning 32 and slowly declining, Pujols is a nightmare contract, etc.  Trout, Albert, and our pitching depth have basically single-handedly kept us in the race in a weak division so far and its no coincidence that when they slump our team falls apart.

I love the team and always will, but this has to be one of the most boring, slow, unexciting clubs in baseball right now.

They've been completely worthless and are honestly hurting the team. DeJesus has had about 6 chances to have game winning hits since he's come here and has done nothing.

Robertson and Navarro were getting it done and we ****ing throw out this garbage instead?!?!?

What a god damn disaster

You bring up a good point. Navarro and Robertson albeit not sexy, were getting the facking job done.

These two acquisitions have been a cluster****.

They only needed one of these guys.  Why they got three, I don't know.  Overkill...

They are basically the same player except Victorino has more an injury history than the other two.

We gave up nothing for them so i guess we shouldn't expect much in return

Navarro has a .617 OPS in his limited time this year.  Robertson has a .622.  That's not "getting it done."

All of the LF options are awful.  I honestly don't think it matters which combination of guys you use.  They're just bad, plain and simple.

If we want to compete we need to inject some speed and OBP into the lineup. Try to get Dee Gordon in the offseason plug him in at 2nd, Gia to the bench, featherston can log some time in the minors, overpay for Heyward, move Calhoun to left and find another reliable reliever. Bank on either Kubitza or Cowart to stick at 3rd.

1. Gordon

2. Calhoun

3. Trout

4. Pujols

5. Heyward

6. Cron

7. Aybar

8. Ward/Perez/Bandy/ianetta?

9. Cowart/kubitza

Otherwise I really do think a rebuild might be best, it just sucks wasting trout's play while we would be rebuilding

The trade was a disaster.  I agree with keeping Robertson and Navarro tandem.  Cheaper and was doing better.

compare that to the OPS of the alternative.

The Robertson hero worshiping has to stop. He had a .622 OPS and a .506 OPS against LHP (Victorino is at .747 against LHP this year). Robertson looked better than he was because he took over from Joyce. He is simply a AAAA player who did a decent job for us for a little while but was never a proper solution. DeJesus is a much better player who happens to have had an incredibly cold start. He can't just have lost the ability to hit overnight.
