The move to get rid of him is whatever. He's a useless player (for us) and an endless distraction, so it's nice to save a little money at least...wouldn't be surprised if he hits us hard in Arlington though.

Also, for numbers people or those speculating here.

 

Using last years numbers and overhead/operating costs, eating 68 mil is 24% of the Angels income for a year.

Not sure how that's relevant, since they're not paying him a lump sum, and they owed that money, anyway.
