Weaver getting drilled all over the park, Iannetta letting runners advance on what should be simple blocks and Joyce fluffing pretty routine fly balls...a few things I fear we'll see quite a bit of this season.

And can we please warm somebody up?

Yep. Dude's topping out at 81-83 MPH on his fastball and his command of it has been bad. Up in the zone a lot with it. Ackley just murdered a 81 MPH belt high FB for a HR

you can make a decent living without throwing uber hard (moyer and john tudor come to mind) as long as you have great location. if weaver's location becomes an issue, yikes.

That fly was anything but routine

That's exactly what we started seeing last season....and so far today it's been an issue. His command started to go south a bit last year compared to prior seasons and so far today he's missing a lot of spots, falling behind and elevating pitches too much.

In any case, Weav on the road + Felix pitching....wasn't expecting a win today in this one

I've been confident Weaver can continue to be a decent starting pitcher for the remainder of his contract. But if he ever loses the ability to locate his fastball it'll get seriously ugly very very quickly.
