It is pretty ****ing sad that grown men need to be taught not to beat their wives and children.

Beating your children, physically and especially verbally, is pretty widely accepted in America. Especially with minorities and in the southern states.

That is precisely what this is about - so that when an off-field incident happens with a player, MLB can say that they were proactive and tried to stress prevention.
