I think Scioscia is making sure no inning gets out of control. Santiago had two very short outings in a row so they are probably more monitoring his pitch count, velocity and control. Currently control is in question

Santiago owning the A's isnt something new -- he's been taking it to them all season long.   For all the worry about our rotation right now, Santiago's performances vs Oakland this year are one reason to be optimistic in the ALDS.
