  1. Angels. He will stay. He wants to win and won’t go the way of say LeBron, by choosing a ready made winner. He wants to be the main reason for a team to win it all!
  2. Another point is, for the Angels to replace Ohtani, we’re talking two elite level players. A #1 starter and maybe the best power hitter in baseball will cost 60-80+ million per year.
  3. I don’t think there’s any way Ohtani is not an Angel come next year. He loves it here, and if he’s not signed long term, the franchise would take such an incredible hit! He has become so big, especially for the franchise, there’s just no way Arte doesn’t see this. I have a nephew visiting Japan as we speak, and Ohtani and his accolades are everywhere in Japan. He is Japan right now. Besides, there’s no way Arte wants to go down in baseball history as the guy who lost the Goat.
  4. What would you do if you ran into him at Angels stadium or ST?
  5. Reading what A's fans talk about on their fan forums, the Giants working on their 3rd WS title in 5 years is excruciating pain for them.
  6. We will win with Shoe on the hill against the rookie Ventura. Ventura looked pretty bad against Oakland in the play-in game. The pressure will be too much for him. You can call me crazy, but I expect Wilson to be just good enough to throw 5-6 innings and hold KC to 2 or fewer runs. Shields is way overhyped and has not looked great down the stretch including being pretty average against a bad Oakland offense on Tuesday. He is the kind of pitcher we hit well. At 2-1 we are looking strong and have room for a loss at KC in game 4, with a return home and Shoe winning game 5. Everyone needs to take a step back away from the cliff.
  7. I agree about the switch to small ball being a bad move. And pulling Freese was a poor decision, but deciding after the fact that Sosh should have gone with Morin, Pestano or Grilli over Salas is just guessing. Morin and Grilli looked pretty bad down the stretch as well and Pestano was rarely used in high leverage situations. So easy to say what should have been done when you know the result.
  8. I agree it's a brutal loss with so many missed opportunities I feel suicidal, but everyone jumping off the Angels wagon is just ****ing ridiculous. This team could easily win 3 straight and then what does everyone say? Be fans not ****ing idiots.
  9. I'll be watching with my daughter from home in Santa Barbara. She thinks I'm the worst Angels fan ever because I curse at every mistake. She is 16 and has every player's back when they make a mistake. She thinks I'm nuts.
  10. I agree. To think Hamilton doesn't offer more than Navarro and Boesch is just hating the guy because of his contract. I think he can be a difference maker in the playoffs and I'm betting he bats 5th or 6th.
  11. I'm definitely on the side of not wanting to face Oakland. Losing to them would send me into severe depression. Whoever made the comment that the Angels offense is as nonexistent as Oakland's is clueless. Our offense goes through its ups and downs but our offense has the potential to explode on any night.
  12. I wonder what the situation would be had Pujols taken the walk.
  13. Sometimes Pujols is such a selfish hitter. Need runners and he swings at two pitches that would have been ball 4.
  14. I would have Trout, V Martinez, Cabrera, Abreu and Altuve ahead of him just to start.
  15. Guess this game doesn't matter to Scioscia. Why give Oakland hope heading into playoffs?
  16. Everything hit hard. Even the out to Cowgill. Waited too long to pull him. Should have seen he had nothing.
