Santiago is a horrible pitcher. He's walking on thin ice whenever he pitches and his luck will run out eventually. He's a #5 starter on a poor team at best

Conger and Freese are more responsible for that mess than Santiago.

He's Wilson with like half the amount of groundballs. Regardless he throws too many pitches without pitching deep into games. He forces you to burn your bullpen every game. That's a huge negative. You're not much of a starter if you're out after 5 innings

Yup. Not to mention that the defense does show up when Shoe or Skaggs pitch. It's no coincidence that they throw more strikes and work fast.
