It's all okay. Opening up in an National League city against a team that won 95+ games last season isn't the best opening series to have. If we'd opened up against the Astros, 3-0.

 

All three games were close, one run games. One was blown by the pen, one was on the starter. Weaver was excellent, Wilson was good except one inning, Blanton was prone to Homers in that bandbox of a park.

 

1-2 this year is not like going 1-2 to start the season last year against KC at home. The Reds are favored to win their division, and possibly might win the most games in the National league.

 

On to Texas and lets hope for a series win so they can come home at .500 without the panic button being pressed.

 

Still a good homestand next week is key to getting the season off on the right foot.

Our biggest worry has been our strength. SP kept us in the game, as did the unheralded BP heading into the season.

It was a good series. Could have went either way for both teams. I really like the Reds and think they will be a force in the NL.

A lot to improve on, but still had chances and opportunities in all three games.

Good optimism post, I think there are a lot of positives to take away while the negatives will correct themselves.

The pen isn't gonna be this good all year but if they are 90% of what they were this series, this team is gonna win a ton a games when the offense gets going.  There will be a lot of close ones with lot's of drama and the Halos will be among the leaders in late inning victories and walkoffs.

It feels completely different than last season. There are mostly positives to take away from both losses. Last year I was just scratching my head.

The good: The pen has, so far, outperformed our expectations. If this continues, it bodes well for the season.

 

The bad: Our Big Four have zero homers out of the team's total of 3. Trumbo looks completely clueless at the plate...worse than 2nd half last year. We're going to strike out a TON.

 

The ugly: We have the same record as the Disastros. Allow that to sink in.
