To be fair, LeBlanc's numbers have been much better than Shoemaker's and Santiago's while in AAA. Tough stadium and league for pitchers to post solid numbers.

LeBlanc and Wolf are on minor league contracts and not on the 40-man roster.

 

If it's LeBlanc (or Wolf) it means that they will do one of two things:

 

1) Designate one of these 13 guys for assignment: J. Alvarez, C. Bedrosian, D. De La Rosa, M. Kohn, V. Pestano, M. Roth, D. Rucinski, Cron, Jimenez, Wheeler, Boesch, Campana, Shuck. Two on the 15-Day DL could also be put on the 60-Day DL.

 

2) Put Richards on the 60-Day DL effectively ending his season.

Is it also possible that LeBlanc is being called up now to add bullpen depth and somebody else will start on Monday? Doesn't make sense to promote a starter now, when the bullpen is taxed and we need relief help. I'd have thought they'd be adding a long relief type for a couple of days, then calling up the guy they want to start.
