I guess it was really bad because they did not show a replay on the score board.

Live it looked like he squared to bunt and it rode up on him, hit the bat and deflected into his face.

I don't think it got much of the bat, it looked pretty ugly.  Headache tomorrow, along with black eye, broken bridge on nose, and hopefully not a concussion.  The only saving grace was that he started to turn his head away from it a little.

As well as he walked off the field, thinking about it logically, that could be a very serious injury. That's a 95mph fastball right between the eyes. I don't care if the umpire called it a strike, if that hit the bat it grazed it at best.

Couldn't believe he walked off under his own power. The guy's one tough mofo. Other players get grazed on their helmets and need help to be taken out. He takes it on the nose and walks away. We all know he works his abs but his nose and head are of steel too.

He got stitches and was taken to a local hospital. Haven't heard anything since.

Yeah, only updates I've seen from the beat writers is that he received stitches and went to the hospital. He also apparently hurt his thumb(ball hit the tip of his thumb before it hit him in the face)

 

After seeing the video again, it didn't hit the bat at all. Missed the bat, hits his thumb that was sticking up off the bat, and then directly smashes into his face at 95 MPH. It looked bad, it sounded bad.
