character has been a big issue for this team. i don't imagine they're going to take something like this lightly.

 

first court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 1. i'm guessing they'll call up schultz to take his place for the time being.

Going for a perfect 6-0 homestand Sunday

going with my brother today, first game of the season for me. found two tickets for $56, and that was pretty hard to turn down.

the 70s line looks incredible. pearson's speed is insane. his first goal today was so fun to watch.

 

jonathan quick is the best goalie in the world, hands down.

 

the injury to foligno was so innocuous looking. at first we thought he had just taken a dive, but it became pretty clear pretty quickly that it was something serious. the mood turned to somber inside. hearing he's going to be okay, but no details yet. 

 

kopitar went out with an upper body injury but reports after the game say it doesn't look serious.

what a stupid situation the league has put them in. the salary cap amounts should be calculated at the end of the season. this current practice doesn't make room for trades during the season, and the fact that players being paid less might be called up to the big club.

 

the fact that a team can't call up a player from the minors in late october to replace an injured player because of salary cap concerns is just plain stupid.

true, but being suspended ought to allow the team to fill his roster spot without taking a salary cap hit. it's a ridiculous standard.

i kind of disagree as it would be a deterrent to getting suspended in the first place.

in some cases that may be appropriate. voynov's actions were not hockey related, however, and as such, i don't think the team should be penalized for what he may have done at home.
