If Tanaka is posted, it will make things interesting. Otherwise there will probably be some decently big trades and some pitcher signings. Nothing crazy though.

Since the moves we made the past two years didn't translate to  great seasons, maybe not being the offseason champions this year might bode well for us.

I'm completely fine with going into next season not being predicted to win the World Series.

It made the disappointment feel so much worse the last 2 years.

I agree. Would be nice to go into the season as underdogs for a change. Like the good old days.

Fine, I'll suggest it. Let's trade him, I mean he's still young and likely wont get any better. Teams would probably love having the greatest player in a generation on their team and would part ways with more pitching than the Angels know what to do with.

My great fear was that there would be another big splash, i. e., overpaying for a long contract for yet another big name position player on the wrong side of 30. I'm willing to wait out what else happens if we can avoid making major gaffes like the past two off-seasons.

Anybody else thinking the Angels will claim a pitcher or two in the rule 5 draft on Thursday, even if it's only in the minor league portion where they can take a AA guy and put him in AAA and see if he can make it.
