Just saw a tweet saying percy has not been contacted by anyone to coach. I wonder if he was saying it as his way of saying he's available? Would he be a good addition to the coaching staff? (I'd be for it).

As far as a hitting coach, just in the interest of naming ex players who could hit, what about mike sweeney? Isn't he a local guy? I knew a guy years ago who knew him, and I remember him saying how sweeney wanted to play here but we never had any interest (circa 2005).

No idea if he would be a good coach, but he was a solid bat.

Maybe Mike DiGiovanna contacted him to ask him about the Angels situation. There isn't much to go by, but "it would have to be worth my while" tells me he wouldn't be interested in being the assistant pitching coach.

Prob not. But maybe he's referring to not coaching in the minors?

I'm a homer, but I think percy would be a good guy to bring in. No idea if he would be a good coach, but I think his personality/pedigree would be a good start.

PercySquint refuses to take the position unless Scioscia green lights him to order bean balls to Kinsler and the entire Red Sox order, including John Lackey if he is in the dugout. No comment yet from the Angels if they will accept those terms.

Percy probably needs to be THE pitching coach plus a decent contract dollar wise to entice him out of retirement and his part-time activities at UCR -- if he's still doing that over at UCR - he's helped the program out quite a bit........

If I was Percival, I would rather start my coaching career as an Assistant at the MLB level than a Minor League pitching coach. The coffee is probably better.

Pretty sure he coaches high school ball right now. Next time I see him I'll ask him if he wants to coach in the MLB.
