Just saw a tweet saying percy has not been contacted by anyone to coach. I wonder if he was saying it as his way of saying he's available? Would he be a good addition to the coaching staff? (I'd be for it).

As far as a hitting coach, just in the interest of naming ex players who could hit, what about mike sweeney? Isn't he a local guy? I knew a guy years ago who knew him, and I remember him saying how sweeney wanted to play here but we never had any interest (circa 2005).

No idea if he would be a good coach, but he was a solid bat.

This is the tweet.

@MikeDiGiovanna: Troy Percival said #Angels "have not contacted me whatsoever." Wants to return to MLB but position "would have to be worth my while."

Maybe Mike DiGiovanna contacted him to ask him about the Angels situation. There isn't much to go by, but "it would have to be worth my while" tells me he wouldn't be interested in being the assistant pitching coach.

PercySquint's demands for taking the position:

1. PED's no longer outlawed in the MLB, but now required.

2. Public flogging extended as punishment for Kangaroo court.

3. Seats installed on the wing of the plane for pitchers who give up more than a 3 run lead.

4. The Angels change their uniforms to include "The Hat".

5. Petite Asian women dressed as cheerleaders to greet the conquering heroes after a winning road trip.

6. All Kiss cams, Public singalongs (with the lone exception of "Take Me Out To the Ballgame"), and fake color races on the scoreboard are banned.

7. The Rally Monkey disappears.

8. Bob Gibson style meeting on the mound at least once a game are required.

9. The player with the cleanest uniform at the end of the game gets fined.

10. Anyone with a batting average within 50 points of their weight or lower gets sent to AAA.
