Weaver is not an ace anymore

This thread is awesome because its a perfect picture of this board overall. We are quick to turn on players, we are reactionary and our fandom most times dulls our logic.

That is what makes us all fans though. Regardless, there isn't any other starter on this team I would want pitching for us in a big game than Weaver and there aren't many AL pitchers I would pick over Weaver to pitch that big game for us. I'm very happy that he is our best pitcher and that he likes being an Angel.

This is very well put. We as fans can be emotional while teams and managers have to use more logic and more patience than we do.

until he ends up having another rough couple starts. It goes both ways.

Spot on

oh please.

Guys have stepped up and Weaver has pitched better than I expected.

Tyler Skaggs wasn't even on the roster at the time and Garrett Richards was seen as a 4th or 5th starter.

Get over your superiority complex

I think Weaver's pretty good -- he'll bounce back........has had some rough starts this year and then some injury issues.

If the Halos are in that ONE game playoff (of course, depending on if they needed to play right to the last day to get there -- they shouldn't be -- but if they drop some more games here, they might be).

But if they are in a position where they know they are either the AL West winner or Number One wild card the last week -- and then the A's clinch with about 3 or 4 games left (A's don't seem like they are going to lose consecutive games any time soon here or go on a 4 game losing streak like the Halos right now).....it will be interesting to see:

who do you set up to pitch that ONE GAME WILD CARD game?

Jered Weaver or Garrett Richards?

I think a lot of folks here right now say Garrett RIchards..........Me?  Yeah, old school, go with the veteran.......I'd probably go with Weaver.
