Its not so much that they may get Ohtani, its that they'll have to pass on Kershaw, let Buehler walk as a free agent, same for Will Smith, just so that they can stay under the luxury tax while Freeman and Mookie Betts continue to get older, year by year.  

And, who is going to pitch for them?  If they sign Ohtani, can they afford to sign Blake Snell or Yamamoto, who they probably have more of a need for at this point.

Be kind to mmc.
