“I like what Perry’s done. I think they’ve made some good moves. If they get Trout back, holy cow. It’s a nice lineup they’ve got. It’s balanced.”

Sorry if this was posted already

Not to mention Drury and O’Hoppe

Have to get a reliever that’s reliable. There’s considerable upside in the Angels bullpen right now but they need someone proven who is having a good year

Said reliever is going to make the bullpen really locked in roster-wise, which might not be good.

Jose Soriano is the last reliever with options, so it's he or Silseth as the odd man out to SLC upon this theoretical deal, unless they DFA Webb or Barria (which is possible but seems really unrealistic) or IL Canning and leave Silseth hopping between 6th SP/long-relief.

Then you have to factor in Devenski (just started rehab) and possibly Suarez, Bachman, and/or Joyce all returning at some point. Sure, roster will increase to 28 in September, but that's a month away. And what happens if the pen gets taxed in a couple days and they need to bring up a fresh arm? Who do you DFA in that emergency situation? Loup? Barria?

Adding an arm at this point isn't going to be that easy roster-wise, 'less we're planning on something really big that involves one of our SPs or we move someone else back to one of these half-buyer/half-seller teams, like Sandoval + Loup for Snell + Hader, and honestly not totally sure that deal makes a ton of sense. They're upgrades, sure, but at the cost of losing club control in Sandy and his familiarity with clubhouse it might not be worth it.

Sandoval scheduled to start today which probably makes the chances of a blockbuster deal even more remote

...unless that's why they bumped Canning. Could make one or the other available, with whoever is left taking today's start.

Not many teams are looking to trade those type of guys.
