I think the Astros will soon take over the AL west. Rangers are struggling.

I don’t know if there’s any possibility of this at all, but part of the reason I like the Angels going for it is that, if it fails and they miss the playoffs and lose Ohtani, maybe Arte actually sells the team.

Like maybe this is him giving it his last shot and if it doesn’t work, he leaves the “mess” for someone else to clean up.

Amen brother.  Reality is that this organization has been on a road to nowhere and will continue to do so -- until there is change at the top.  Assuming of course that ownership change is a good one.  It could be worse.  Right now we have the black hole.
