Just can't get excited for 1B only prospects overall. It's the bottom end of the defensive spectrum and for him to justify being taken this high, he's gonna really need to hit for average and power, so there's a ton of pressure on the bat. Hopefully it ends up being the case as they don't have any clear long-term 1B option. Should likely see MLB time as early as 2024

I have no idea if he will end up being a power threat, it’s totally possible. What will be refreshing is in a league where strike outs are commonplace, having a guy that doesn’t strike out.

I think Minasian’s strategy has been fairly clear in terms of prioritizing players that will find their way to the majors fairly quickly.  This team needs LHH, especially if this is Ohtani’s last season here.

Like I said earlier, I think we could've done much better than this.  For hecks sake, we have a second baseman playing first base for us with Brandon Drury

Well Lowder, Dollander and Meyer were gone by 11 so I didn't have much vested in any particular bat that they selected here.  I had thought they would get Teel (C) who was still available, or Gonzalez.  If Teel was picked and develops nicely, it would be interesting to see who among O'Hoppe, Quero and Teel would become a valuable trade chip.
