I actually don't have a problem with the team making trades to support this season.  That said, the system was approaching a modicum of depth on the pitching side and they're thinning that out pretty rapidly.  

I was a decent fan of his but more so, I just felt like he was a guy to not forget about as a HS draftee with a big body from the mid rounds.  He's got some stuff ish.  Probably ends up a depth piece where he cracks a rotation here and there as a #4/5 at best.  

Crow is a way bigger loss.  Way better stuff.  I get what they're doing but they're going to regret that trade.  Not just because Crow is gonna be a nice major leaguer but because Escobar really isn't that good in my opinion.

Padlo and Squid are easy calls…Rengifo, I don’t know…let’s wait and see….One thing is pretty clear though…Perry isn’t f’ing around…we may regret the Escobar and Moose trades later but no more AAAA band aid guys…if we’re going down, it’s going to be with major league guys….

i wonder what rengifo could fetch on the pitching market. i expect him to be traded now, and i'm sure it will be as part of a larger package, but i'm curious what his value is? i think it's higher than his actual performance. gm's see all that potential.

I think it should be noted that Perry more or less replaced Urshela and Walsh without any meaningful payroll increase. These guys keep deadline deals viable
