He had a bad final two months last year and he’s been hurt this year….way too quick to turn him in to a utility guy or send him back to AAA….

I'm not sure what you were seeing. He had a decent BABIP fueled June/July but overall he was terrible for over a year straight. The injury wouldn't have kept him out of the lineup if he was hitting, so this feels more like a hail marry pass more than anything. Ultimately fixing his hips isn't going to fix his plate discipline.

What is the timeline for Fletcher? I feel like I haven't heard much about him around here, is he going to be making an appearance before the end of the season?

I don't even remember how he got hurt again.

Supposed to be back after the All Star break. About to start a minor league rehab.

I don't think Fletcher is a starting caliber player anymoreA

If Fletcher is healthy, he is more than starting quality. He was playing hurt and looking bad until he was sent to hip surgery. Without pain-free hips, a player cannot swing properly or set and throw in the field. If the surgery has done what it is supposed to have done, Fletcher may regain most if not all of what made him a starter.

We might be following something special here guys.  This may actually end up being the low point of the season.

I don't think I'm alone in saying, considering the expectations with having Trout and Ohtani, this is probably the lowest point I've seen the team in the 25 years I've been watching them.

I have no idea if he can be the Fletcher of 2019/2020 again….you may very well be right….but I think you give him every chance to show what he can do…..agree to disagree….

We can't go lower??

Possible.  But it seems to me that this is probably the low point.  Getting some W’s against the orioles here before the ASB probably a kind of last gasp for any kind of hope for the season.  Not that  there was much hope at all.  But this.  This should just about snuff it out.

It’s pretty bad.  I can’t even pretend to think there’s some kind of plan to follow going forward.  I have no idea what they’re going to do.  They have to massively gamble or concede to being gigantic losers for the next 4 or 5 years at a minimum.  And that’s if they somehow figure out how to start developing players. Then maybe they can start turning it around in a time frame like that.

I think the team is hoping that he sucked because of his messed up hips. I got the impression from them that they didn't think the injury was serious but his play was so bad they didn't really have another choice.

I would give him that chance at AAA. I'd much rather know what we have in Rengifo and Stefanic.

Coming up are three against the Astros, followed by two against the Dodgers and then, after the break, a three-game weekend in Hotlanta. Where's the low point?

K but we expect to get sodomized by those teams.  You don’t really go lower imo - when you’ve already given up.
