Tonight's game is on Apple TV+

It isn’t about watching tonight’s game.  It’s about do they lose you and your viewership in subsequent games?

They list several people from this site.

I just don't think 15-25 year-olds are suddenly going to be watching more Ames because they are spread out on a multitude of platforms.

I read through a gambling chat where a majority of the posters had no idea that the game was on Apple TV. Every minute there was someone saying that they couldn't watch the game.

Thank you for being civil and not personally attacking me.

never said they would lose my viewership. just pissed that they decided to make me jump through hoops to watch this one, when I have paid to see "EVERY out of market game"

Try to follow along.

Which is why I didn’t quote you because I wasn’t talking to you. This was from an earlier conversation in this thread. So perhaps it’s you who needs to follow along.  But conversation 101 is if I don’t reply to you I’m not talking to you.  Now this exchange here that we are having is about you and me.

As a matter of fact yes...they promise every out of market regular season game. I've had mlb.tv since its start. They have ammended that over the years to NOT include nationally broadcast games on Fox...but those are nationally televised games that most can recieve...but that is STILL not what they promise when you sign up and pay them for, and it's BS also.

And Strad...you are such an apologetic, excuse making, corperate asslicker. Good to see you havent changed.

Lou fighting this fight all on his own because I certainly never claimed everyone will watch Apple TV games. I just don’t think having games on Apple TV is going to mean Lou and Blarg won’t watch games when they aren’t on Apple TV.  In other words they (mlb/the Angels) already have you as fans.

It was a joke. However, there were guys on this very board that said they didn't watch the game because it was on Apple TV.

Yes, I'm a fan. That doesn't mean I watch as much as I have in previous years. In fact, I rarely watch all 9 innings of a game anymore. I watched 2 innings last night.

It's not just me. TV ratings are low for MLB. Die hard fans are watching less every year. I don't think spreading broadcasts over a multitude of platforms is going to draw in new, younger fans.

I'll just settle this debate and say this. If you are an Angels fan who wants to watch the game a certain percentage will jump through the hoops of watching it on AppleTV and a certain percentage won't. If you already have AppleTV and are something of baseball fan a certain percentage of those people will tune in that wouldn't have. No one is signing up for AppleTV to watch games that they weren't going to watch via another service already.

So the question is, are more AppleTV subscribers tuning in than Angel fans not tuning in? MLB doesn't care, they just wanted to cash Apple's check.

And let's not forget...

"MLB games will be available for free “for a limited time.”
