There is value in that, but we can probably just have Barria pick up that role.

Whitfield came up before because they didn't want Adell playing part time, and they knew they were going to have to send him through waivers.. They want the defense going into the rough stretch of games here. 

None of the other guys who are in AA or AAA are on the 40, and they also have to get down to 13 pitchers (not including Ohtani) by the end of the month. That's a 8 man pen, and they had been running 9.

It was Iglesias/Tepera/Loup/Ortega/Bradley/Mayers/Barranclough/Barria/Warren with the rotation of Ohtani/Sisleth/Lorenzen/Sandoval/Syndergaard/Detmers.

Also, none of the AAA guys with major league experience are hitting, and Cabbage and Whitefield are hitting nicely, but it obviously doesn't translate, as Whitefield was 0-11.

Cabbage is done for the next 2 months due to injury.

They extended the rosters a few more weeks

They had FOUR Outfielders on the 40 Man Roster prior to this move.

Now at least they have FIVE.

Hopefully no one else gets hurt, because it will be back to seeing MIFers out there.

All I'm saying, is Ward has been out of the lineup for a week, and is likely to come back in another 2-4 days. 

That's 8-12 games Jo Adell could've been starting, everyday.
