Gameday Thread: Rays @ Angels (5/11/22 4pm start): Ohtani on the mound, no Trout or Ward

If we won today I think we all would’ve been pleasantly surprised. We didn’t make it easy for them to leave town with a win even while fielding a petty rough line up today. 12 games against the A’s and Rangers coming up let’s take care of business

Anyone know what year they started suspending games that were rained out, and picking them up where they left off, rather than replaying them from the beginning?

It used to be if a game didn't go long enough to be an official game, the stats didn't count, and it got replayed. I know that Bobby Bonds lost 2 HR's in a game on May 23, 1973 due to a rain out. The home runs didn't count. As a result, he ended the season with 39 HR and 43 SB and should have been the first 40/40 player.

Astros/Twins got rained out after only 3 innings. However, The teams will pick up where they left off Thursday afternoon and play the last six innings

They would just intentionally walk him

If Trout hit for Mayfield

1. Trout is walked

2.  No out Wade buns and moves tying run into scoring position.

3.  Ward and Marsh are a baseline away from tying it.  If the IBB Ward, then Ohtani has a chance.

I hate losing the last game of the series but I'm ecstatic they took 2/3 from Tampa, especially in the manner they did.

Definitely not a fan of this "go-away" lineup crap, but the fact we still almost won with the...F squad is a good sign.

Great series whichever way you look at it. Taking two out of three from a very good team like TB goes a long way to having a succesful season. Now on to 4 with the A's and feeling confident with that series also.
