Agreed. Honestly thinking that the team just tacked on another 5 years of a "Vernon Wells" contract, which means he'll likely be gone within 2 and a half years while the team has to eat all that money

I hope you're right, but I don't give stuburn Scioscia that much credit.  I just foresee Josh getting a hit or two and Scioscia putting him back in the 2, 3, or 4 spot, thinking he's turned it around.   

Scioscia’s latest lineup change put Peter Bourjos back in the leadoff spot and droppedMike Trout to second, where the Angels’ skipper prefers he hit. It came on a day an opposing lefty – Joe Saunders â€“ was on the mound, but it sounds like Hamilton will also bat seventh against righties.

“I think it’s going to be good for him to not worry about hitting in the middle of the lineup – just go down there and play baseball for a little bit and find his stroke,” Scioscia said.

You don't just "find your stroke" against garbage pitches far out of the strike zone. You DON'T SWING AT THEM, that's what you don't do!!
