Pretty sure that was added shortly after Mo Vaughn injured himself immediately following his signing with the Angels and sprained his ankle within like, his first 2 games at Angel Stadium.

It was after his first game, and every other team followed suit after. And it just goes to show you that Patrick didn’t follow baseball until at least the early 2000’s.
