Houston will be team to beat in AL west. Halos are putting a lot of trust in young OF. Matt V. really gets excited on fly balls to OF.

Well.... It's just one game. 

But, not a fan of Ohtani in the leadoff spot and Duffy in the 4 spot. 

To me it's Ohtani/Trout/Rendon 2/3/4.

I questioned Maddon's bullpen moves but it ended up working out (aside from Tepera).

1) Ohtani at the plate with Trout on deck is such an exciting thing. It's what Trout and Pujols should have been.

2) I wonder if Adell will ever be competent in the outfield or if I am going to hold my breath every time a ball is hit in his direction. 

3) I would have loved a win but it's just one game against the defending AL champs.

How is that different than what we already have?  After the first inning there is nobdifference.

It just one game but the season is going to be maddoning!

1. I think the BP will be good, there is depht in the minor now.

2. Sp is still and will be a questionmark

3. Adell bat will determine if he's a bust or not and he should be in right

4. Duffy is going to be a solid player, but he should either be hitting 1st, 2nd, 7th or 8th. 

5. Rendon will start so, but I think the numbers will be their by the end.

6. We need to use the opposite field against left hand pitchers

7. Ideal top of line-up would be; Duffy, Othani, Trout, Rendon, Walsh (against right handers), Marsh, Stassi, Adell, Flec

Once Adell gets his feet on the ground things will be fine.  Overall the defense and pitching looked good and once hitters catch up to pitchers we’re going to score plenty of runs.  But last night sucked.

Facing a Lefty Curveball specialist Game 1 was a recipe for disaster. Rendon and Ohtani just missed homers that would have won the game.  Pitching looked great aside from tepera. Hate Duffy batting 4th. Lineup looked like it could have used Upton last night.

Think he jizzed on live broadcast when Ohtani hit the long out in the 8th.  Then he had the audacity 10 seconds later to call out the fans and players for overreacting.

A few notes:

 

1 - Adell looked terrible (circa 2020) - That throw in on the first run of the game was between home and first and he completely misplayed a ball by coming in and letting sail over his head... and then there were his ABs: where he was way too over aggressive swinging at balls well outside of the zone (two that were down and in after a text book set-up pitch)...

 

2 - I know this is going to sound weird because it was a quiet night offensively... but without Upton and Pujols in the line up... it feels more dynamic - There wasn't a point that I felt I could jump up and grab a refill or hit the head... just felt like there was much more promise and potential...

 

3 - Ohtani, Trout, Rendon... that's so fun to watch... and I agree with others: move Shohei out of the 1-hole - put Fletch there!

 

4 - The bully was solid overall

 

5 - This team is fast..
