I have a really bad feeling about this Lorenzen signing… just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

Lorenzen has not looked good at all through out this spring....Hopefully its just spring training.

I have from the beginning.

If he was one of those depth moves, fine. Hes got some skill.

But as a "we dont need an established starter, this reliever has spot started, and has played the outfield, he's in our rotation" sounded bad from the start

You can swap his name for almost any pitcher we've had since the Syrian war kicked off, and say that exact thing.

I honestly thought they were signing Lorenzen for the bullpen at first. As a multi-inning reliever, I could maybe talk myself into the signing, despite the price they paid. Penciling him as one of their 6 SP from the start never made much sense to me

Yeah I originally thought we were luring him with a chance to win a rotation spot, but we'd eventually sign Stroman or Ray and send him to the pen. I'm pretty surprised this was actually the plan.

Honestly I’m not sure why they are going that route. A simple out motion or safe is suffice for me.
