About 10 years ago, my daughter became a fan of Ohtani-san, and I started paying attention to him.
When I participated in this forum last June, I would have never imagined that Ohtani-san would be named an MVP.

It was late to post, but December 31st was Ippei's birthday.

The Japanese text written after 'Happy Birthday' is as follows:
"I am extremely grateful for your devoted support for Ohtani-san. It is because of your support that he can concentrate on baseball and playing an active role with peace of mind. You have a heavy responsibility, but I look forward to your continued support."

Let's have fun this year, too.

This type of upside is realistic for next season. There is hope

I just hope we get a full Spring Training. If we don't, who knows what kind of injuries and underwhelming performances will happen in April and May.

Unanimous Newcomer of the Year.

Thank you for giving me the AngelsWin Newcomer of the Year Award.
But I don't have an excellent interpreter like Ippei.

Ohtani "underestimates" himself by Ippei

(Link, NHK in Japanese, December 24, 2021) "Shohei Ohtani revealed by Ippei, behind the scenes of 2021 season"
(Excerpt) Maybe Shohei underestimates himself. From the end of August to September when his batting performance was not good, I had a chance to talk with him about MVP.
Shohei said something like "It's no longer possible to be named an MVP" or "Absolutely impossible." I asked, "Well, are you really saying that?", he replied, "I'm serious."
Then I said, "Even if the season is over now, you'll certainly be named an MVP", but he said something like, "For the likes of me, there is no way."
When it comes to baseball, he tends to underestimate himself.

Sorry to change the subject, but Ohtani-san likes dogs.

Ohtani-san said, "Okay, wait a minute."

A Golden Retriever named 'Ace' that Ohtani-san started keeping in the first grade of elementary school.
He died at the age of 15 years and 8 months in July 2017, the year before Ohtani-san moved to the Angels.
