Hmm I would have liked to see C-Rod get a chance to get a shutdown inning but I also like giving Warren some highish leverage opportunities against an elite offense.

Last season Adell couldn't get any breaks. This season Vlad Jr  misplays an inning ending pop up. You can't say Adell had a hit or those two runners are RBI attributed to his at bat but it happened. Scoreboard is scoreboard and Adell has happened to add two today.

I just looked it up to see if maybe the starter only has to go 4 innings to qualify for a win in these silly 7-inning doubleheader games--but, nope, still have to go 5.  So no win for Rodriguez even if the Angels hold on.

Regardless of the pitch count, those were some high leverage innings by CRod.  He had to battle all day vs a great lineup, pulling him was probably the best call if for no other reason as a way to manage his innings.

I mean, is the thinking really as simple as, "The 5th inning in a 7-inning game is just like the 7th inning in a 9-inning game?"  That's what the announcers said the strategy was.  If so, that's beyond moronic.
