Rendon having season ending hip surgery

Rendon is a very good player but he is overvalued based on his contract. And I could be wrong but I don't think he is going to age well in this league.

He benefited from the timing of his career year and an owner who wanted to make something happen after losing out on the hometown pitcher he coveted.

He's only hit 30 HR's once in his 9 years in the league.

I just don't think he is worthy of being the 2nd highest paid player and the highest paid infielder in MLB.

I mean, good for him, but I think his contract will be looked back at as another huge mistake for our franchise.

i think we'll always debate value of a contract for free agents no matter who they are, and i don't think too many of us will really feel like "oh yeah, that guy was totally worth every dime."

and i'd be willing to bet this is probably universally true among baseball fans and who their team signs.

2021 Salaries for infielders…

Arenado - $35,025,000

Machado - $32.200,000

Altuve - $29,000,000

Rendon - $28,071,428

add all of those together and that's probably what jeff bezos makes on a typical tuesday.

It's somewhat common for NHL goalies to have these hip surgeries and they tend to come out good as new. That shouldn't be a major concern but I would hope that next year we can be so bold as to ask anyone getting paid north of 30 mil to play triple digit games
