Rendon having season ending hip surgery

Don't know anything about his particular condition but him impingement can be cause by many things ie injury or a congenital issue with the way the femur is configured relative to the hip joint which makes people more susceptible to injury or impingement.  They might just be having him get the surgery and correct the issue so he can be ready for spring.  It might have been something that he was going to need to pay attention to at some point so why not now.  My guess is it wasn't related to his other injury.

And isn't this what Stassi had repaired the last two years?

His initial injury was listed as a hamstring.  Curious how/if the hip impingement is related.

It was probably a hip labral injury which is more serious that a hamstring strain. They might not wanted to relay that information until they knee conservative care would not be effective. A labral injury can refer pain to the ischial tuberosity region, which mimics as a hamstring injury.
