It’s hard to watch because of the limited time. The pitches are coming in so fast that you can’t watch each individual hit, and that’s a bad format for tv.

ESPN spent time discussing how much the Coors effect with affect HR distances just to never give us live HR distance readings. We just have to rely on them telling us how far a certain HR went. Story hit one 518 ft I guess.

You tune in to watch the home run derby but you never see the ball travel. Never see the arch of the hit, just a bunch of fans scrambling not to get hit. This is such a colossal failure of both format, the sped up hitting to a clock and the inability to show the actual ball flight.

MLB and ESPN should high five themselves for making baseball even less appealing.
