It's funny. Rengifo looks good to me when he's batting but gets little results. What do you think of him? Give him time? He's a scrub?

He has a full season of at bats over his career so far and is batting .212 with a 64 OPS+.

He sucks.

He’s young and he’s cheap.  He’s capable of playing several positions.  It’s possible that he’ll develop into a better player.  He may not ever be an everyday player but even as a bench guy that’s useful.  As you said, tools wise he’s interesting. There’s no reason to get rid of him for nothing now.

What do you think of his chances of being a "better player?" Young and cheap doesn't do much for me, if you're not productive.

I maybe misreading it but according to fangraphs his 2019 War was 1.1 where he had 406 at bats.

He's had a -1.1 WAR since then.

He's need to shorten up his swing from the left side. His swing from the right side is really good.

I don’t know.  He could easily be better then he is now.  Young and cheap is really important for a team like the angels that needs to plug a ton of holes.

He is 24. Walsh and Ward are 27. Walsh was in the minors at 24, Ward played 40 games with the Angels at 24 and sucked.

He's played in just 19 games and has only 66 PA's since he came up last month. Maddon put him in RF even though he had played only 3 games in the OF ever. Do not get that one at all.

Rengifo slashed .331/.402/.568/.969 in AAA this year.

There is talent there. I think he can become a productive MLB player. He may need to go back down to SLC to work on his game.
